Receiving rolls of film back always feels like Christmas and this time was no different - except that it was and every second photo was of a chilli margarita! Come with us as we share our Christmas celebrations with you.
This year for our Christmas party we kept it local and packed an overnight bag for a weekend in Byron. It was the perfect ‘staycation’. Our home away from home was the beautiful Barbara by Kinsfolk, located on Lawson Street in Byron. The location is second to none. It’s directly opposite Clarke’s Beach and you can check the surf (or just Spritz!) from the balcony.
Entering the home through the pastel pink door, we were blown away by the high panelled ceilings, natural light and luxe furnishings. We wanted to stay and admire a little more but cocktail hour was quickly approaching and we had urgent business to attend to at Rae’s Cellar Bar. We unpacked our bags, put on a bit of lippy and piled into one car. Lucky for us, our beautiful Production Manager Hannah is expecting a little girl in January, so for once we didn’t need an Uber.
With terrazzo flooring, bougainvillaea blooming and some of the best cocktails around, Rae’s Cellar Bar is the perfect addition to our favourite boutique hotel. We rearranged the furniture for our team to fit and as if on cue a tray of coconut margarita’s hit the table. The hours flew by and as the sun began the set we made our way back for a short stroll in to town for dinner.
The celebrations continued at The Italian, the best pasta in Byron. After a few too many spritz’s and copious amounts of gnocci, the night ended on a high back at Barbara with a very competitive and highly amusing game of pool.
Saturday morning was a slow start to say the least and the rest of the weekend was spent across the road at Clarke’s Beach. The boys surfed for hours on end and we perched under our brollies reading and going back and forth between ocean and pool dips at Barbara.
On Sunday, we fired up the BBQ for a true Aussie lunch up on the balcony - there really is nothing better. The rest of the day was spent playing bocce, swimming and relaxing until dinner. We wondered to The Beach Hotel, an easy go-to where the music is live and the vibes are always high.
As our magical weekend was coming to an end, we took in our final moments on the balcony. Heading home with a few more freckles and smile lines, feeling so grateful for our peony family and memories made.
We hope you enjoyed a glimpse into our peony Christmas Celebration and here's to a wonderful 2019. X
