Peony pieces are created with the intent to be a part of your wardrobe for years to come. To ensure their longevity, we encourage thoughtful practices when caring for your pieces. Taking care of your garments will extend their life and minimise your environmental footprint. We recommend a cool hand wash with mild natural soap followed by line drying or drying flat in the shade. Avoid machine washing, tumble drying, hot water and harsh chemical detergents. As a general rule, limit washing until completely necessary. All synthetic fibres, recycled or otherwise, release tiny particles called microplastics into the waterways when washed. To minimise this, we recommend washing your swimwear in a Guppyfriend Washing Bag.
There is nothing sweeter than a vintage peony piece, so think twice before you let it go. If a button comes loose, or your dress shows signs of wear, we encourage you to repair it or repurpose it into something new. Tackle minor repairs yourself at home or source a seamstress. You can breathe new life into old pieces by getting creative with DIY - shortening the hem of your favourite dress will give it a new feel and turning an old floral blouse into a scarf gives it a new life.
When you are ready to let go of your peony garment, consider hosting a clothing swap party with friends and family, have a garage sale or donate the item to support those in need in your local community.
To help increase the longevity of our garments we have implemented a take-back program. If you have a piece at the end of its life, you are welcome to send it back to us for responsible reuse or recycling. To do so, please email us at info@peonyswimwear.com. Please note, due to hygiene regulations, this program only applies to our resortwear pieces.

Thread tape measure under your arms, around your back and across the fullest part of your bust. Once you have the tape measure lined up, relax your arms at either side
Your natural waistline is the narrowest part of your waist, above your belly button and below your rib cage. Run the tape measure around your waist (like a belt), keeping it straight.
Stand on a level surface with your feet together. Measure the fullest part of your bottom and upper thighs, not around your hip bones. Ensure the tape is straight around your body.
If you don't have a measuring tape, you can use a piece of string and then measure the string length with a ruler. Tape should be horizontal all around, and fit close to the body. These are tips to measure your body, not the garment.
