Introducing
Dolorès Cafier

Introducing Dolorès Cafier, a film photographer living between coast and city. Forever inspiring us to slow down and find beauty in the everyday.

Through the soft grain of 35mm film, Dolorès captures the romance of July by the Aegean Sea, where sun-faded afternoons call for effortless resort dressing.

Dolorès shares the rhythm of a life lived between Paris and the Greek islands, the story behind her falling for film photography, and the quiet rituals that keep her grounded. She talks vacation essentials, dream Sundays and the peony pieces she'll be packing all season long...

Living between Paris and the Greek islands. How does each place shape the way you live, create and dress?

I think I always keep the same overall “mood” in my style, which I would describe as vintage, with a strong ’70s influence and, of course, a Mediterranean touch. I love colors, prints and textures.

In Greece, I naturally dress much more simply and effortlessly. I tend to go for light, fluid fabrics and silhouettes that feel easy and comfortable. I think the climate really influences the way I dress too — everything feels more relaxed here. I almost never wear heels in Greece, whereas in Paris, I can hardly imagine going out without them hahaha.

In Paris, I find fashion much more stimulating. You can experiment more, play with the way I dress and it pushes me to be more creative.

When did you first fall in love with film photography?

I’ve loved photography for as long as I can remember. When I was little, I was constantly taking pictures of animals and flowers. Then, as I got older, my friends started stepping in front of my camera, and I would spontaneously create little photoshoots with them.

I fell in love with film photography specifically when I was 18. My grandfather gave me his old film camera, a Fujica, and I started experimenting with it. I learnt everything by myself and I completely fell in love with the whole process. There’s something so unique and inspiring about film photography, from the anticipation of seeing the images to the imperfections and unpredictability of the final result.

Which pieces from your peony edit feel most like you, and why?

I just loooove the Pointelle Short. I can wear it to the beach with just a bikini top, then throw on a little shirt and wear it to a restaurant afterwards. Add a few pieces of jewellery and it instantly becomes a more dressed-up look. I love when one piece can be styled in so many different ways and take you from one moment to the next.

Describe your perfect Sunday...

My perfect Sunday starts early, I’d grab a takeaway coffee and a greek tahini brioche, then head to the sea while it’s still quiet and sun is not too strong. I’d swim, spend some time in the sun, read a little, and just take my time. Nothing too planned, just a slow morning by the sea. Then I’ll go for a walk, always with my film camera and take some spontaneous pictures.

What is your must read...

There are a lot but at the moment I’m re-reading My Brilliant Friend by Elena Ferrante. I love the way it captures friendship, womanhood, growing up and the complexity of relationships. And I love to read it during summer!

Fondest memory by the ocean...

One of my fondest memories by the ocean would probably be all those spontaneous summer days in Greece, when you have no real plans and somehow end up spending the entire day by the sea. Having a long lunch, talking with the locals, watching the sunset… I love how time seems to slow down when you’re close to the water.

Dream vacation destination...

My dream vacation destination used to be Tanzania, and I was lucky enough to go there two years ago for a Safari— it was such an incredible experience. Now, I’d say Hawaii or Peru.

Your most-loved flower to receive...

I love Tulips — simple, fresh, and effortlessly elegant.

If you could only wear one swimsuit style forever, what would it be and why...

It will definitely be my “Essential String” two-piece swimsuit. I love the floral print, and honestly, it’s so comfortable and flattering. I’ve been wearing it on repeat!

Something simple that always makes you feel your most beautiful...

A lip liner, my favourite lip balm, and a good pair of earrings. Nothing too much, just enough to feel like myself.

Right now, you're dreaming of...

My next vacation in Folegandros island with my mum !! She’s coming in a few days and I can’t wait to create new memories with her.

Coffee with a view or an evening aperitivo?

A 100% coffee with a view !!

Favourite summer beauty product...

Ok I can’t live without these 2 : the Caudalie Eau de beauté (I use it everyday at any moment to refresh and hydrate my skin even at the beach etc) and my Summer Fridays Lip stain in tint Rosette !!
